Wedding Officiant

We have booked our wedding officiant to conduct our wedding ceremony, Rev. Georgiana Johnson. She will be performing a brief civil wedding ceremony which will include a rose exchanging ceremony. As promised, we will have appetizers and drinks available shortly before and after our ceremony to kick off the festivities! Ceremony is scheduled for 5pm sharp, so please be on time! Wedding party pictures will be conducted beforehand, so afterward we will proceed into a cocktail hour before sitting down for dinner at 6:30pm. It’s all coming together, only 9 more weeks to go! Reminder - if you haven’t sent back your invitation reply card, please do soon!

We booked our caterer, good ole Sonny’s BBQ! What can we say, we love us some Sonny’s, and there’s nothing like getting all gussied up and eating some ribs haha! On the buffet menu will be Pulled Pork, Chicken, St. Louis Cut Ribs, Mac n Cheese, Baked Potatoes, Side Salad, Garlic Bread, and French Bread. Bring your appetite, because there is sure to be a LOT to eat! Mmm gotta love that Sonny’s Sweet Sauce…

Our ceremony and reception will be held in Winter Park, FL at the Rachel D. Murrah Civic Center. The ceremony will be in the outdoor courtyard and the reception will be in the adjacent grand ballroom.

It’s official! We booked the one and only DJ Mark V aka Mark Vijandre to DJ and MC the reception! He will be spinning the best in top 40, hip hop, reggae, 80’s, and a little freestyle and breaks for good measure! We can’t wait, this is shaping up to be one hell of a party!!! Sorry to all the traditionalists, but we set in stone absolutely no chicken slides or electric dances of the sort! We have reserved a block of 15 rooms next door to the civic center at the Best Western Mt. Vernon Inn for the night of the wedding. If you would like to reserve a room, call the phone number below and mention the Carraway/Misir Wedding on January 23rd. Cutoff date for the group rate is December 22nd. The rooms are fairly basic with traditional styling, but are clean and affordable. Rooms are available in either Standard or Deluxe, and either 1 King or 2 Queen beds are available. After our reception, the party will continue in the Red Fox Lounge, and breakfast the next morning will be on premises in The Coach Room.

We are going with a cupcake tower instead of the traditional wedding cake. Stacey just told me about this great cupcake place in Mt. Dora. As good as Publix is, this place looks way tempting. Check it out. How will we ever decide on flavors? Anyone up for a trip to Mt. Dora for a cupcake tasting? Yum!
